Why Do a Yoga Retreat in France?
Do you really need to ask why you should practice yoga in France? Well, there are so many reasons!
From the scenery to the culture to the food, France has it all. Choosing to do a France yoga retreat will almost certainly guarantee that you’ll be satisfied with your decision.
Scenery
The scenery in France is truly idyllic. Despite how famous big cities like Paris are, more than 70 percent of France is made up of countryside.
This means you’ll be able to take in amazing views that can differ greatly depending on whether you choose a yoga retreat in the south of France or northern France.
You may enjoy gorgeous views of snow-capped mountains, expansive fields, rolling hills, or even warm sandy beaches.
But whichever setting you choose for your yoga vacation in France one thing is certain: you’ll enjoy unique and peaceful surroundings.
Culture
If part of your reasoning for booking a yoga retreat in Europe is to immerse yourself in a different culture, you also can’t go wrong with choosing to visit France.
France has a very rich history, and you’ll be able to soak it all up during your trip. You may want to consider adding a few days to your stay to explore some historic castles or churches, visit famous battle sites, or check out one of the country’s famous art museums.

Food
When exploring the reasons to visit France, we can’t of course overlook the food! French food is simply delicious.
From yummy pastries to French bread and cheese to traditional hearty stews, your mouth is probably watering now just thinking about all the tasty food you’ll enjoy during your French yoga retreat.
Best Time to Go on a Yoga Holiday in France
Wondering when to schedule your French yoga holiday? Spring, summer, and fall can all be wonderful times to visit France. During all of these months, you should expect to enjoy pleasant weather.

If you are looking to avoid the crowds, you may want to choose to travel in the fall or later spring, as there will be more tourists in France during the summer (particularly July and August).
Winter can also be a nice time to visit if you’re up for a little cold. Temperatures in the south of France should be milder in the winter, so it may be a better option during the cooler months.
That being said, I’ve visited Paris and the Alsace region in the winter, as well as the south of France in the summer, and always had a great time, so you definitely can’t go wrong here.

Attending a Yoga Retreat in France? Don’t Forget Travel Insurance!
As with any other kind of physical activity, joining a yoga retreat is not without its risks. While yoga is generally safe, accidents and injuries can happen anywhere and, if you’re anything like me, you’ll want to be prepared for the worst, especially when you’re in a foreign country.
That’s why travel insurance is so important and you should never leave home without it! I use and recommend SafetyWing travel medical insurance for travelers, remote workers, and nomads.
They cover overseas medical assistance in case of accident or illness, a wide range of sports and activities including yoga, travel delay or interruption, lost checked luggage, emergency medical or political evacuation, natural disasters, and personal liability, at very competitive prices.
