The Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali – one of the world’s most iconic yoga destinations and home to the BaliSpirit Festival
Yoga festivals are more than just a series of classes in a nice venue. They’re about community, energy, learning, and connecting to yourself and to like-minded people from all over the world.
Over the years, I’ve realized that not all yoga and wellness festivals are the same. Some are deeply rooted in tradition, others lean more towards conscious culture and music, and some sit somewhere in between.
This list is a curated selection of festivals that genuinely stand out, not just because they’re popular, but because they offer a meaningful experience.
Full disclosure: I’ve only experienced the Wanderlust Festival in Portugal firsthand. This list reflects events I genuinely recommend (and would happily attend) as a certified yoga teacher, based on over 15 years of practice and experience in yoga and wellness spaces around the world.
So without further ado, here are 15 of the best wellness and yoga festivals around the world, organized by region.

Not every festival on this list will suit everyone, and that’s the point.
Some are deeply spiritual, others more celebratory or experimental. Some are rooted in tradition, while others reflect modern conscious culture.
If you’re choosing where to travel for your next yoga or wellness festival, think about what you’re really looking for: depth, community, nature, learning, celebration, or a mix of all of it.
Sometimes the right festival isn’t the biggest one, but the one that meets you exactly where you are.

Attending a Yoga Festival Abroad? Don’t Forget Travel Insurance!
As with any other kind of physical activity, joining a yoga festival is not without its risks. While yoga is generally safe, accidents and injuries can happen anywhere and, if you’re anything like me, you’ll want to be prepared for the worst, especially when you’re in a foreign country.
That’s why travel insurance is so important, and you should never leave home without it! I use and recommend SafetyWing travel medical insurance for travelers, remote workers, and nomads.
They cover overseas medical assistance in case of accident or illness, a wide range of sports and activities including yoga, travel delay or interruption, lost checked luggage, emergency medical or political evacuation, natural disasters, and personal liability, at very competitive prices.
