#1 Start or deepen your yoga practice
Going on a yoga retreat abroad is a great way to start or deepen your yoga practice. Being away from the distractions of your daily life, surrounded by like-minded people in a serene and beautiful destination makes it much easier to connect with yourself and to be present on your yoga mat.
#2 Explore a new destination
These days you can find yoga holidays almost anywhere in the world. Yoga retreats or holidays usually include some free time to explore on your own or even organized tours. They’re also a good opportunity to meet the locals and learn about a new culture.
#3 Meet like-minded people from all over the world
A yoga retreat is an opportunity to meet fellow yogis from all over the world, make new travel friends, and connect with interesting people that you wouldn’t meet otherwise. It is also a special and intense experience that will probably forge new and long-lasting friendships.
#4 Enjoy the healthy food
Yoga retreats and holidays offer healthy, delicious food, usually with many vegetarian and vegan options. Meals are prepared with fresh, local ingredients, sometimes by the students themselves. A yoga retreat is also a culinary experience on its own, and a yummy one.
#5 Relax
Do you know how sometimes during a trip you want to tick off all the sights in your guidebook that you end up needing a vacation after the vacation? Well, during a yoga retreat abroad, you get to enjoy a new place in a different, more relaxing kind of way. There’s no rushing from one place to another or a sense that you’re missing something. Just being present and enjoying the moment.
#6 Get in touch with your inner self
Practicing yoga every day, meeting new people, being in a different environment, trying new foods, and learning to relax, all this will make you connect with yourself in sometimes surprising ways. You’ll probably discover things about yourself that you never knew about, or even thought were possible.
#7 Nurture your body and soul
A yoga retreat will nurture your body, mind, and soul. And the best part is, the positive effects won’t stop there. Going on a yoga retreat or holiday will inspire you to adopt and keep these healthy habits and a mindful lifestyle even after it’s over and you’re home again.
Attending a yoga retreat abroad will change you and your life for the better. Ready to try it for yourself?

I have been on several yoga retreats. It is a great way to see the world, create lasting friendships and get in touch with yourself. I highly recommend this way of travel. Especially as a single female traveler. It adds a layer of safety to the journey.
